Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Pacific Power.
Dee Jay Dancer and Air Commander collided soon after the start. Air Commander, Rosie Oh Rosie and Pacific Power collided on the first turn, checking Pacific Power which contacted the running rail as a result. Rosie Oh Rosie and Good Luck Mick collided on the first turn. Joycee Rae and My Mate Horse collided on the second turn. Pacific Power and Joycee Rae collided approaching the third turn. Air Commander, My Mate Horse and Good Luck Mick collided on the third turn. Dee Jay Dancer, Pacific Power and Joycee Rae collided on the third turn, checking Pacific Power. Air Commander and My Mate Horse collided several times on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. My Mate Horse marred Air Commander entering the home straight, checking Air Commander. Rosie Oh Rosie and Dee Jay Dancer collided in the home turn.
Air Commander was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
My Mate Horse was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Leanne Hall, the trainer of the greyhound My Mate Horse regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged My Mate Horse with marring. Ms Hall pleaded not guilty to the charge, My Mate Horse was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
