Steward's Report

Shadow Diamond was a late scratching at 8:25am due to illness (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sweet Shiraz upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Kelly's Style was quick to begin. Jai Jai Away was slow to begin and lost ground soon after the start.

Flash Bobbie and Halloweenie collided approaching the first turn. Hurricane Patch and I'll Swap Ya collided approaching the first turn, checking I'll Swap Ya and Sweet Shiraz. Flash Bobbie eased on the home turn and again approaching the winning post, checking Kelly's Style.

Flash Bobbie was vetted and revetted following event three. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to Ms Susan Northway, the trainer of the greyhound Flash Bobbie, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Flash Bobbie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Northway pleaded guilty to the charge, Flash Bobbie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Kelly's Style, the winner of the event.
