Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Porscha's Girl upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Daisy Patch.
Porscha's Girl was quick to begin. Power Ruckman was slow to begin. Baggy's Request was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Shrek's Tornado clipped the heels of Daisy Patch on the first turn causing Shrek's Tornado to fall and severely checking Power Ruckman as a result. Porscha's Girl eased approaching the home turn. Shrek's Fairy veered out and marred Porscha's Girl approaching the home turn checking Porscha's Girl which collided with Daisy Patch. Crystal Shell and Tarika Tara collided in the home straight.
Shrek's Tornado was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Lesjak, the representative of the greyhound Shrek's Fairy regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Shrek's Fairy with marring. Mr Lesjak pleaded guilty to the charge, Shrek's Fairy was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr T. Cortese, the trainer of the greyhound Porscha's Girl regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Porscha's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and right shin soreness, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Porscha's Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Cortese pleaded not guilty to the charge, Porscha's Girl was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
