Beer On Tap was a late scratching at 6.27pm Stewards permission due to mechanical breakdown. No stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Good Boy Oscar.
Cruising Suzie was quick to begin. Gunai Chief, Miss Flower and Swift Fozz collided soon after the start checking Gunai Chief and Miss Flower. Good Boy Oscar and Cruising Suzie collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Good Boy Oscar and Rooey collided on the home turn. Gunai Chief and Swift Fozz collided on the home turn. Miss Flower raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight. Gunai Chief raced wide in the home straight.
