The start of this race was delayed by approximately 1 minute to hold for Ballina thoroughbred races.
Salvarotti, Klondike Gold and Badelaide Road were slow to begin. Spot My Key, Revved Up Dee and Annie Bell collided approaching the first turn severely checking Annie Bell and Revved Up Dee, causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose ground. Revival and Destini Trucker collided approaching the first turn checking Revival. Revival, Salvarotti and Spot My Key collided on the first turn. Salvarotti and Destini Trucker collided entering the home straight. Klondike Gold and Destini Trucker collided approaching the winning post.
Annie Bell was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Revved Up Dee was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a superficial abrasion to the left hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
