Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Blastoise.
Bad Size, Blastoise and Mella Moo were slow to begin. Off Ya Rocket, Tucky's Daughter and Sartori collided soon after the start checking Tucky's Daughter and Sartori. Miss Holland and Daisy Patch collided on the first turn checking Daisy Patch and severely checking Miss Holland. Bad Size and Off Ya Rocket collided on the first turn checking Off Ya Rocket, Bad Size and Sartori. Blastoise eased approaching the home turn checking Mella Moo. Bad Size checked off Off Ya Rocket approaching the home turn. Blastoise galloped on Mella Moo in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Tucky's Daughter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the right foreleg and a spike wound to the right hind toe, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Blastoise was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Creighton, the representative of the greyhound Blastoise regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Blastoise with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Creighton pleaded guilty to the charge, Blastoise was was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
