Bad Size, Blastoise and Mella Moo were slow to begin.  Off Ya Rocket, Tucky's Daughter and Sartori collided soon after the start checking Tucky's Daughter and Sartori.  Miss Holland and Daisy Patch collided on the first turn checking Daisy Patch and severely checking Miss Holland.  Bad Size and Off Ya Rocket collided on the first turn checking Off Ya Rocket, Bad Size and Sartori.  Blastoise eased approaching the home turn checking Mella Moo.  Bad Size checked off Off Ya Rocket approaching the home turn.  Blastoise galloped on Mella Moo in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Tucky's Daughter was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the right foreleg and a spike wound to the right hind toe, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Blastoise was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Creighton, the representative of the greyhound Blastoise regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged  Blastoise with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Creighton pleaded guilty to the charge,  Blastoise was was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rasleigh Banser was a late scratching at 16:10 on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Oh Nikita.

Shamus Mac, Spin The Trolley and Power Ruckman collided soon after the start.  Oh Nikita, Power Ruckman, Pure Cascade and Zipping Foy collided on the first turn checking Zipping Foy and Pure Cascade.  Zipping Foy checked off Power Ruckman approaching the home turn.  Pure Cascade clipped the heels of Zipping Foy approaching the home turn checking Zipping Foy.

Zipping Foy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the the greyhound sustained mild soreness in the left and right back muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Omega Vera.

Lakeview Bruta and Omega Vera collided approaching the first turn checking Lakeview Bruta.  Princess Shae and Angelic Hand collided approaching the first turn checking Angelic Hand.  Omega Vera crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Trey Bit, Princess Shae, Angelic Hand and Lakeview Bruta and severely checking Knightrider.  Invictus Helena eased entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Whelan, the representative of the greyhound Invictus Helena regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.  Invictus Helena was vetted and after being re vetted following event 9, it was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness in the right pectoral muscle and right thigh, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Invictus Helena with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Whelan pleaded not guilty to the charge, Invictus Helena was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Row Tay Tom was slow to begin.  Blue Alcatraz and Aston Harvey collided approaching the first turn.  Canino and Dundee Calypso collided approaching the first turn checking Canino;  Aston Harvey checked off Canino as a result causing Row Tay Tom to race wide.  Blue Alcatraz and Aston Harvey collided approaching the third turn.  Blue Alcatraz and Row Tay Tom collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Thompson, the representative for Sleek Master regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sleek Master last raced 25 February, 2017 and is returning from an injured left back muscle. 

Sleek Master was slow to begin.  Jay Jay Bee and Aston Philou collided approaching the first turn.  Jay Jay Bee checked off Aston Philou approaching the first turn.  Jesaulenko and Ishmy Girl collided approaching the first turn.  Moltisanti and Omega Sniper collided approaching the first turn.  Jesaulenko galloped on Good girl Sandy on the first turn checking Jesaulenko, Good Girl Sandy and Sleek Master;  Jesaulenko checked off Sleek Master as a result severely checking Jesaulenko and Ishmy Girl.  Jesaulenko and Ishmy Girl collided several times approaching the home turn checking Jesaulenko.  Jay Jay Bee raced wide on the home turn.  Jesaulenko and Jay Jay Bee raced wide in the home straight

Jesaulenko was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right carpus and a graze to the left hock.  No stand down period was imposed.

Meehan Rosie was quick to begin.  Don't Kid Me and Grand Maximus were slow to begin.  Don't Kid Me, Kalani Klare and Hurunui Jack collided on the first turn checking Kalani Klare.  Omega Brittany and Hurunui Jack collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Midnight Max was slow to begin.  You Bug Me and Blue Not Black collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.   Midnight Max raced wide on the home turn.

This event was delayed by one and a half minutes to hold for the running of the Sha Tin gallops.

Stolen was slow to begin.  Oakleigh Rose and Cookie Rose collided approaching the first turn.  Denied Justice and Steel collided on the first turn.  Cookie Rose and Hands To Myself collided on the first turn checking Stolen.  Select Daniel checked off Dava Supreme entering the home straight.

Cruella Deville was quick to begin.  Sunset  Believer was slow to begin.  Heard It Before and Usain Gilbert collided soon after the start.  Cruella Deville, Flip, Rip Van Winkle and Joni Sunset collided on the first turn checking Flip, Sunset Believer, Usain Gilbert and Heard It Before, severely checking Fuel Lever and causing Cruella Deville to fall.

Cruella Deville was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. A. O'Keefe and issued a warning pursuant to GAR 51(10)(a), after she failed to place her greyhound in the correct starting box. 

MEETING COMMENTS;

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Fulford, the trainer of Chase On Case regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Chase On Case last raced on 6th November, 2016.  Mr. Fulford stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennels.   Pursuant to GAR 77A,  Chase On Case trialled over the 440m from box 1, weight 23.3kgs,  the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 24.94, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75 lengths.   Chase On Case was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Ishmy Brother trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 34.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 24.94, the greyhound won by a margin of 5.75 lengths.  Ishmy Brother was Cleared.
