Ridgy Boy, Slow As Thunder and Heartstring were slow to begin. Ridgy Boy crossed to the rail soon after the start. Porscha's Girl, Limping Miss and Slow As Thunder collided soon after the start, checking Limping Miss. Slow As Thunder, Porscha's Girl and Invictus Storm collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark. Limping MIss and Ridgy Boy collided at the 200m mark. Invictus Storm checked off King Henry at the 150m mark. Slow As Thunder and Porscha's Girl collided at the 100m mark and again approaching the winning post. Ridgy Boy faltered at the 100m mark and lost considerable ground. King Henry and Heartstring collided approaching the winning post.
Ridgy Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
