Steward's Report
Due to a major traffic incident just outside of Geelong that affected the arrival times of several Trainers, Topcat Contractors and GRV staff alike, the Stewards extended the kennelling time to close at 7:20 pm. All races were effectively put back one race to maintain our Sky Channel committments. Race 1 commenced at 7:34 pm and Race 12 was rescheduled to the new start time of 11:13 pm. Five greyhounds failed to make the amended kennel closing time and were subsequently scratched, without penalty: Race 3 - Ronray Destiny; Race 4 - Strength To Wyn; Race 10 - Down In Mexico and New Level and Race 12 - Emeritus.
Gomez Sanchez was quick to begin. Xenon Bale, No Excuse and Pius Thicknesse were slow to begin. Dyna Neitz and Lochinvar Zara collided soon after the start. Xenon Bale checked off the heels of No Excuse approaching the first turn. Atomic Kitten checked off the heels of Lochinvar Zara approaching the first turn. Dyna Neitz and Pius Thicknesse collided on the first turn. Atomic Kitten and No Excuse collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Dyna Neitz checked off the heels of Pius Thicknesse on the first turn.
