Alpha Triton, Aqua Cheetah, Daithy Allen, Thomas Dee and Blue Gum Hill collided soon after the start checking Aqua Cheetah, Thomas Dee and Daithy Allen which stumbled as a result. Aqua Cheetah and Daithy Allen collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Aqua Cheetah checked off John John Lava in the front straight. Aqua Cheetah, Blue Gum Hill and Quina Bale collided on the second turn checking Blue Gum Hill and Quina Bale. 

Aqua Cheetah was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards queried Mr J. Thompson, handler of the greyhound Aqua Cheetah, which performed below market expectations. Mr Thompson could offer no real explanation for the greyhounds performance, however he was of the opinion that the greyhound performs best when it is able to lead. Stewards noted Mr Thompson's explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

Zippy Daph and Don't Kid Me were quick to begin. Princess Pout was slow to begin. Princess Pout was slow to begin. Allen Mike, Mystery Ride, Invictus Rapid and Suffragette collided soon after the start and approaching the first turn, checking Allen Mike, Invictus Rapid and Suffragette and checking Mystery Ride which stumbled. Mystery Ride checked off Allen Mike on the first turn.  Allen Mike contacted the running rail on the first turn. Invictus Rapid, Suffragette and Princess Pout collided appraocahing the third turn checking Suffragette and Princess Pout.

Fugitive Bale galloped on the heels of Why Not Sue on the first turn checking Fugitive Bale and Why Not Sue and severely checking Proven May. Miss Innings and Parsnip collided on the home turn.

Jailor Bale and Kumbia Lass were quick to begin. Golden Tears and Benlura were slow to begin. Wanda Bale and Tronic Flash collided soon after the start. Tronic Flash and Zambora Idol collided soon after the start checking Zambora Idol and Golden Tears. Wanda Bale, Tronic Flash and Benlura collided on the first turn checking Benlura and severely checking Tronic Flash. Jailor Bale checked off Wanda Bale appraoching the third turn.

Jacqui Blax was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right calf muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed..
