Mr. G. Campbell, trainer of Rodman, declared a new weight of 37.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). Rodman last raced at 38.7kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Shot To Glory.
Sonny's Tas, Rodman and Patriotic Star were slow to begin. In Dee Genes checked off Parisian Magic approaching the first turn. Abed Bale and Sub Zero Magic collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Abed Bale, Parisian Magic, Sonny's Tas, In Dee Genes and Patriotic Star. Parisian Magic and Patriotic Star collided approaching the home turn severely checking Patriotic Star. Abed Bale and Sonny's Tas collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.
Patriotic Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained sand toe to its left hind toes. No stand down period was imposed.
