Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Ya Welcome.
Reignlee, Wild Angel and Cosmic Act collided soon after the start. Shanks Very Much, Spirited Quality and Reignlee collided on the first turn checking Shanks Very Much and Spirited Quality. Reignlee and Cosmic Act collided in the back straight checking Reignlee. Parisian Magic and Ya Welcome collided on the second turn. Reignlee failed to pursue the lure on the home turn checking Ya Welcome, Parisian Magic and Cosmic Act. Parisian Magic and Ya Welcome collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Formosa the trainer of the greyhound Reignlee regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Reignlee was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right front and right hind leg, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Reignlee with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Reignlee was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
