Derivation was quick to begin. Perry Bale, Oshkosh Yobbo and Maximum Gift collided soon after the start. Osakalaka checked off Perry Bale approaching the first turn and made contact with the running rail. Derivation and Oshkosh Yobbo collided on the first turn checking Oshkosh Yobbo. Perry Bale and Pius Thicknesse collided approaching the home turn. Aberdeen Rebel checked off Pius Thicknesse approaching the home turn. Corinth Bale and Derivation collided on the home turn, Oshkosh Yobbo lost ground as a result. Corinth Bale eased on the home turn. Corinth Bale checked off Aberdeen Rebel in the home straight.

Derivation was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right quadriceps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Osakalaka was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Corinth Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left calf and biceps, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Loverso, thehandler of the greyhound Corinth Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Corinth Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left calf and biceps, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Corinth Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge, Corinth Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
