Steward's Report

Buckle Up Eve was slow to begin.  Tiger Frost, Mood Swings, Natari, Katlin and Awesome Freckles collided on the first turn, checking Mood Swings, Natari and Katlin.  Tiger Frost, Awesome Freckles and Avatar Djay collided in the back straight, checking Awesome Freckles.  Mood Swings checked off Avatar Djay approaching the home turn.  Natari raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Buckle Up Eve checked off Awesome Freckles entering the home straight.  Buckle Up Eve failed to pursue the lure in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms Thordes Pakusch, the trainer of the greyhound Buckle Up Eve, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Buckle Up Eve was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left saddle, left and right hindleg triangle, left and right hindleg groin, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Buckle Up Eve with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Pakusch pleaded guilty to the charge, Buckle Up Eve was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
