Steward's Report
Aston Miley was a late scratching at 4:05pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature . A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Flash Bobbie was quick to begin. Mella Moo, Regas Baby and Coolgirl Miss were slow to begin. Flash Bobbie, Doc's Reward, Mood Swings and Riviera Cruz collided on the first turn checking Flash Bobbie and severely checking Doc's Reward. Mood Swings, Regas Baby and Coolgirl Miss collided on the first turn checking Mood Swings. Coolgirl Miss galloped on Riviera Cruz approaching the home turn severely checking Riviera Cruz. Mood Swings, Riviera Cruz and Coolgirl Miss collided on the home turn checking Riviera Cruz, Coolgirl Miss and Flash Bobbie.
Riviera Cruz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the trainers representative of Riverside Cruz, Mr. S. Healey regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. After reviewing the official race footage and on taking into acount Mr. Healey's observations, Stewards believed the greyhound's racing actions was a result of being galloped on by Coolgirl Miss and took no further action.
Coolgirl Miss was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. Brown, trainer of Coolgirl Miss declined the option to have the greyhound re vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Brown , the trainer of the greyhound Coolgirl Miss regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Coolgirl Miss with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Brown pleaded guilty to the charge. Coolgirl Miss was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
