The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Johnny Dunbar and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:22pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. P. Brown was fined the sum of $100.

Bryden Peter was slow to begin. Full Blown Turbo checked off the heels of Omamori soon after the start. Full Blown Turbo and Omamori collided approaching the first turn. Victo Bale and Bryden Peter collided on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Hehir, the trainer of Sidevalve regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sidevalve last raced on 26th January, 2017. Mr. Hehir stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a pad injury .Mr. Hehir also declared a new weight of 33.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sidevalve last raced at 32.0kg.

Kostya Nuffen was slow to begin. Tayla's Banjo went up with the lids at box rise. Sidevalve and Who's Irod collided soon after the start. Miss Flower and Sidevalve collided soon after the start. Miss Flower checked off the heels of Who's Irod approaching the first turn. Just Banji checked off the heels of Tayla's Banjo collided approaching the first turn checking Just Banji and Kostya Nuffen. Sidevalve checked off the heels of Beluga approaching the home turn. Miss Flower raced wide on the home turn. Just Banji, Tayla's Banjo and Sidevalve collided in the home straight checking Tayla's Banjo.

Dynasty Guru was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Shaw, the representative of Sunningdale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sunningdale last raced on 5th January 2017. Ms. Shaw stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season. Ms.Shaw also declared a new weight of 24.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sunningdale last raced at 26.2kg.
