Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Frost, trainer of Cassius Spirit regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Cassius Spirit last raced on 22nd January 2017. Mr. Frost stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennel. Mr. Frost also declared a new weight of 34.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cassius Spirit last raced at 35.8kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Cruizing Suzie upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Goldenpaw Jet was quick to begin. Theatrics Show and Cassius Spirit collided soon after the start. Verta Bale and Pillar Creek collided soon after the start. Theatrics Show and Cassius Spirit collided on the first turn.
Cruising Suzie,which trailed the field throughout, was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left hind toes. No stand down penalty was imposed. It was noted the muzzle of Cruising Suzie had become wedged in its mouth.
