Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Taylor, trainer of Talanjee Lou regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Talanjee Lou last raced on 16th January 2016. Mr. Taylor stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being on season.
Crazy Eye Jye was a late scratching at 4.54pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 7 day day stand down period was imposed.
Too Far Out, Revin Kevin, Talanjee Lou and Bush Dancer collided soon after the start checking Talanjee Lou. Bush Dancer and Revin Kevin collided approaching the first turn. Talanjee Lou and Revin Kevin collided in the home straight. Bush Dancer and Too Far Out collided in the home straight. Bush Dancer failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.
Bush Dancer was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J Rennie, the representative of the greyhound Bush Dancer regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Bush Dancer with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Rennie pleaded guilty to the charge. Bush Dancer was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Rennie, the handler of the greyhound Bush Dancer regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Stewards charged Mr. Rennie with a breach of GAR 46(2). Mr. Rennie pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr. Rennie was found guilty and fined the sum of $100.
