Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Warde, the handler of the greyhound Hot Charcoal regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Hot Charcoal with marring. Ms. Warde pleaded guilty to the charge, Hot Charcoal was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr B.Klemke, the handler of Flashing Lights regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Flashing Lights last raced on 6 February, 2017. Mr Klemke stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell.

Stewards spoke to Mr J.Thomson, the trainer of Gunfire Doll regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Gunfire Doll last raced on 15 December, 2016. Mr Thomson stated that the greyhound was returning after a back right toe injury.

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Shout Out Loud trialled over the 500m from box 3, weight 27.6kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 28.35, the greyhound won by a margin of 8.5 lengths. Shout Out Loud was cleared to race in blinkers. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Atlas Roughead trialled over the 425m from box 3, weight 30.9kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 24.40, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.75 lengths. Atlas Roughead was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Daniliuk , the trainer of Likely Target regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Likely Target last raced on 11th August 2016. Mr. Daniliuk stated that the greyhound was returning from a right flexor tendon injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Likely Target trialled over the 425mts from box 8, weight 30.3kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.40, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25L. Likely Target was Cleared.
