Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to A Oakley, the trainer of Assemble Nitro regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Assemble Nitro last raced on 5 February 2017. A Oakley stated that the greyhound was returning from being spelled.
A pre race sample was taken from Patriotic Star.
Tommy Two, Patriotic Star, Early King and Assemble Nitro were slow to begin. Ginger Warrior, Early King and Assemble Nitro collided soon after the start. Tommy Two crossed to the outside soon after the start and raced wide throughout. Better Beware and Ginger Warrior collided approaching the 250m mark. Patriotic Star and Bourbon An Kahn collided at the 150m mark. Ginger Warrior and Assemble Nitro collided approaching the winning post, checking Ginger Warrior.
MEETING CONDITIONS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to G Burke, the trainer of Barroom Promise regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Barroom Promise last raced on 4 October 2016. G Burke stated that the greyhound was returning from a right shoulder injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Barroom Promise trialled over the 300m from box 1, weight 31.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 16.89, the greyhound won by a margin of 1 1/2 lengths. Barroom Promise was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to J Vandemaat, the trainer of Paua Te Kuri regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Paua Te Kuri last raced on 20 September 2016. J Vandemaat stated that the greyhound had changed kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Paua Te Kuri trialled over the 300m from box 2, weight 27.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 16.89, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4 1/4 lengths. Paua Te Kuri was cleared.
