Steward's Report
Mr. R. Lesjak the trainer of Shrek's Typhoon declared a new weight of 33.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Shrek's Typhoon last raced at 35.4kg.
Westcoast Boy was slow to begin. Pepper Gun brushed the running rail on the first turn checking Westcoast Boy. Iggy Wiggy and Jurassic Saphire collided approaching the home turn checking Jurassic Saphire. Peninsula Lady eased and collided with Shrek's Typhoon on the home turn. Shrek's Typhoon and Peninsula Lady collided entering the home straight checking Shrek's Typhoon. Little Mischa raced wide in the home straight.
Peninsula Lady was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Evans the trainer of the greyhound Peninsula Lady regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Peninsula Lady with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Evans pleaded guilty to the charge, Peninsula Lady was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
