A pre-race sample was taken from Star Douglas.
Star Douglas and Rockalot were slow to begin. Lara's Lament, Star Douglas, Thomeli Kasey, Kathy's Lady and Tayla's Banjo collided approaching the first turn, checking Thomeli Kasey, Chopstick Walrus and Tayla's Banjo. Lara's Lament and Star Douglas collided on the first turn, checking Star Douglas. Chopstick Walrus and Star Douglas collided on the home turn and raced wide as a result.
Lara's Lament was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock injury, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.
