Mr. M. Giddings was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers were produced for the greyhound La Reina pursuant to GAR 33.
La Reina was quick to begin. Al's Luck was slow to begin. King Of Merrimu, Okay Penny, Bolare, Riverdale Paddy and Dr. Flannigan collided soon after the start. Okay Penny, Bolare and Dr. Flannigan collided approaching the first turn severely checking Dr. Flannigan and Bolare, Bolare fell as a result. King Of Merrimu checked off Dr. Murtle on the first turn. Okay Penny and Al's Luck collided on the first turn. Dr. Murtle contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Riverdale Paddy galloped on the heels of Okay Penny approaching the home turn. Okay Penny and Riverdale Paddy collided entering the home straight. Riverdale Paddy galloped on the heels of Okay Penny in the home straight checking Dr. Flannigan and severely checking Okay Penny.
Bolare was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left wrist. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
Stewards noted that the muzzle of Bolare became dislodged during the running of the event.
A sample was taken from La Reina, winner of the event.
