Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Ward, the trainer of Soxy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Soxy last raced on 10th January 2017. Mr. Ward stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell. Mr. Ward also declared a new weight of 30.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Soxy last raced at 31.5kg.
Soxy was a late scratching at 8.09pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration to the left calf. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Bank Rogue and Lizzy Allen collided soon after the start. July Allen and Suitress collided approaching the first turn checking Suitress. Shocking Onyx, Moltisanti, Bank Rogue, Lizzy Allen and Suitress collided approaching the first turn severely checking Suitress which stumbled. Shocking Onyx, Bank Rogue and Lizzy Allen collided on the first turn checking Shocking Onyx. Suitress stumbled on the first turn. Zahra Bella and July Allen collided on the first turn. Bank Rogue and Lizzy Allen collided approaching the home turn and on the home turn.
Suitress was vetted and re-vetted following race 7. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle. A stand down period of 21 days was imposed.
