A pre-race sample was taken from Early Spring.
Loris Fury and Spectroscopic were slow to begin. On Billy's Wings, Loris Fury and Spectroscopic collided soon after the start. Loris Fury and Allen Unther collided at the 250m mark. Early Spring and Elram Girl collided approaching the 200m mark. Early Spring alloped on Elram Girl approaching the 100m mark, causing Early Spring to fall and severely check Spectroscopic and Allen Unther.
Early Spring was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
