Steward's Report
Dyna Lassie was quick to begin. Dyna Kungpow, Gregorovitch and Our Didda collided soon after the start checking Dyna Kungpow and Gregorovitch. Queen Quick checked off Our Didda approaching the first turn. Gregorovitch checked off Blackpool Donny approaching the first turn checking Dyna Kungpow. Our Didda, Meehan Barney and Blackpool Donny collided on the first turn checking Meehan Barney and Blackpool Donny. Meehan Barney, Blackpool Donny and Queen Quick collided approaching the home turn checking Meehan Barney, Blackpool Donny and Gregorovitch. Queen Quick eased and crossed to the outside in the home straight and collided with Our Didda; both greyhounds were checked as a result. Queen Quick crossed to the rail approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Dailly, the representative of the greyhound Queen Quick regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Queen Quick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right sesamoid and right thigh. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Queen Quick with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge. Queen Quick was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S Bauer, the trainer of Our Didda regarding comments made about the greyhound Queen Quick to Mrs. A Dailly. Mr. Bauer pleaded guilty to a charge of GAR 86(q) and was issued with a severe reprimand. In determining this decision stewards considered Mr. Bauer's apology to Mr. T Dailly and his remorse for his actions.
