King Of Merrimu, Magic Innings and Allen Kappa were slow to begin. Broadway Belle checked off Monoak soon after the start. Monoak, King Of Merrimu and Swift Operator collided approaching the first turn. Broadway Belle contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result. King Of Merrimu checked off Monoak on the first turn. Helen Allen and Magic Innings collided on the home turn checking Magic Innings. King Of Merrimu and Swift Operator raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Helen Allen and Full Of Charm collided entering the home straight. Magic Innings checked off Full Of Charm in the home straight.
Broadway Belle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to its left shoulder and left calf. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
