Big Tilly and Storm Train were slow to begin.  Why Not Will was very slow to begin (3L).  Riverdale Paddy and Effective Spriti collided soon after the start.  Andy's Gem and Big Tilly collided approaching the first turn.  Andy's Gem checked off Big Tilly on the first turn.  Riverdale Paddy, Effective Spirit and Bowon Approach collided on the first turn, checking Effective Spirit, Bowon Approach and Storm Train.  Big Tilly and Bowon Approach collided on the first turn.

Following this event,  the semaphore board displayed race two instead of race one. This was corrected by the Judge before the all clear was given.

Andy's Gem was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A sample was taken from Riverdale Paddy - the winner of the event.

Charlotte Allen was quick to begin.  Young Wade and Oshkosh Uni Chet collided soon after the start.  Oshkosh Wayne and Fran Allen collided soon after the start, checking Oshkosh Wayne.  Oshkosh Wayne and Young Wade collided approaching the first turn.  Oshkosh Wayne and Fran Allen collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Oshkosh Expert was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards issued a warning to Mr T Dailly, the handler of Oshkosh Expert, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Fran Allen - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mrs A Dailly, the trainer of Queen Quick, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Queen Quick last raced on 2 December 2016.  Mrs Dailly stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an extended spell.

Mr J Sharp, trainer of Calabasas, declared a new weight of 27.2 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Calabasas last raced at 25.4 kgs.

Dyna Jackie and Zambora Caitlyn were quick to begin.  Black Legend and Paula Bale were slow to begin.  Dyna Lassie, Pierce Bale and Dyna Elias collided approaching the first turn, checking Black Legend and Dyna Elias.  Dyna Elias checked off Pierce Bale approaching the home turn.  Paula Bale, Dyna Elias and Black Legend collided on the home turn.  Dyna Jackie raced wide on the home turn and collided with Meeniyan Jet, checking Dyna Jackie and causing Meeniyan Jet to fall.  Pierce Bale checked off Dyna Elias in the home straight.  Black Legend checked off Dyna Lassie approaching the winning post.  Pierce Bale raced wide approaching the winning post.

Victoria Rose and Dyna Yatul collided soon after the start.  Gotham Queen and Maximum Melva collided soon after the start.  Bluey Fields and Dyna Yatul collided approaching the first turn, checking Bluey Fields and Maximum Melva.  Alpha Nyx and Dyna Yatul collided on the first turn.  Alpha Nyx and Never Satisfied collided several times in the home straight.

Roller Bale, Crump's Legend, Rapid Innings and Zambora Pride collided soon after the start, checking Rapid Innings and Crump's Legend.  Meehan Roy, Zambora Pride and Roller Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Zambora Pride.  Meehan Roy, Roller Bale and Rapid Innings collided on the first turn, checking Roller Bale.  Allen Quake and Roller Bale collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Roller Bale and Allen Quake collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Roller Bale.  Allen Quake checked off the heels of Crump's Legend entering the home straight and raced wide.

Roller Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg monkey muscle and left hindleg spike wound injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Dyna Gary eased on the first turn.  Dyna Gary raced wide in the home straight and collided with Crackerjack Pest.

Zambora Krystal was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hindleg, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Sixteen Bills was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mrs A Dailly, the trainer of the greyhound Dyna Gary, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.  Dyna Gary was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a five day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Dyna Gary with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Gary was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Midori Miss was slow to begin.  Blue Magnum and Maximum Jarvis collided soon after the start, checking Blue Magnum.  Lost Blue and Ottis Bale collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds.  Injector, Blue Magnum, Maximum Jarvis and Jackson's Girl collided approaching the first turn, checking Blue Magnum.  Ottis Bale and Blue Magnum collided approaching the home turn.  Maximum Jarvis checked off Lost Blue approaching the home turn.

Swing Arm was slow to begin.  Don's Disaster and Helen Allen collided approaching the first turn.  Helen Allen and Dyna Flash collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds - Dyna Flash contacted the running rail as a result.  Don's Disaster and Destroy I Said collided on the first turn.  Don's Disaster and Swing Arm collided approaching the home turn.  Destroy I Said raced wide on the home turn.  Helen Allen checked off Don's Disaster approaching the winning post.  Unmid Bale and Half Moon Rising collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Helen Allen became partially dislodged during the running of the event.

Dyna Flash was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left stifle. A 14  day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Unmid Bale - the winner of the event.

Jesterday was a late scratching at 6:03 pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mrs T Galea, was fined the sum of $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from Seriously Wicked.

Seriously Wicked was quick to begin.  Ernie Old, Alchemy and Lektra Hutch collided soon after the start, checking Ernie Old and Alchemy.  Allen Clown, Sub Zero Magic and Lektra Hutch collided on the first turn, checking Sub Zero Magic.

Stewards spoke to Mrs L Delbridge, the trainer of Hearing De Novo, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Hearing De Novo last raced on 26 December 2016.  Mrs Delbridge stated that  the greyhound was resuming racing following a right back muscle injury.
