Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Hallam, the trainer of Light 'Em Nash regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Light 'Em Nash last raced on 20th December 2016.  Mr. Hallam stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.

Light 'Em Nash was quick to begin.  Jakey Missile and Palladino were slow to begin.  No Commitment and Maderra collided soon after the start checking No Commitment.  Mac's Intention and Gotcha Mate collided approaching the first turn checking Mac's Intention.  Daintree Ripa and Palladino collided on the first turn checking Daintree Ripa.  Palladino crossed to the rail on the first turn severely checking No Commitment.  Mac's Intention and Palladino collided approaching the home turn checking Mac's Intention.  Jakey Missile and No Commitment collided approaching the home turn checking Mac's Intention and Daintree Ripa and severely checking Jakey Missile and No Commitment;  Jakey Missile stumbled and pulled up.

Jakey Missile was vetted and after being re vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the right wrist, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Arvanitis, the handler of the greyhound Jakey Missile.  Stewards deemed the performance of Jakey Missile unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Jakey Missile must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Light 'Em Nash - the winner of the event.
