Steward's Report
Helen Baxter was slow to begin. Karise Fusileer, Lynlea Jiddy and Tear Away Doc collided soon after the start, checking Lynlea Jiddy. Zelemar Zest, Media Street and Allen Mike collided approaching the first turn. Helen Baxter, Tear Away Doc, Karise Fusileer and City And Colour collided approaching the first turn, checking City And Colour. City And Colour eased on the first turn.
City And Colour was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Coulson, the handler of the greyhound City And Colour regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged City And Colour with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Coulson pleaded guilty to the charge, City And Colour was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Steward’s issued a warning to Ms. R. Sprague after she failed to fulfill her catching obligations for the greyhound Karise Fusilee.
