Steward's Report

Prior to kennelling, a sample was unable to be obtained from Southwood Jet; subsequently, a pre-race sample was taken.

Ninetymile Toby was slow to begin. Major Gold and Southwood Jet collided soon after the start, checking Ninetymile Toby. Major Gold and Two Mississippi collided on the first turn, checking Two Mississippi. Two Mississippi and Southwood Jet collided on the first turn, checking Southwood Jet, Destini Seajewel and Two Mississippi. Two Mississippi eased approaching the home turn. Ninetymile Toby raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms Wendy Miller, the trainer of the greyhound Two Mississippi regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Two Mississippi was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle and a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Two Mississippi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Miller pleaded guilty to the charge, Two Mississippi was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Wrecker One, the winner of the event.
