Stewards spoke to Mr K Kubic, the representative of Just Curtis, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Just Curtis last raced on 9th November 2016 and is returning to racing after a change of kennel.

Nitrolicious was a late scratching at 10:31AM due to illness (infection) (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards conducted a track inspection as a precautionary measure due to tyre marks from the tractor. The stewards were satisfied that the surface was safe for racing.

Big Boy Rocket and Darb's The Man were slow to begin. Riverdale Paddy checked off Monoak approaching the first turn. Riverdale Paddy checked off Big Boy Rocket on the first turn. Monoak and Just Curtis collided approaching the home turn. Monoak and Crazy Eye Jye collided on the home turn, checking Big Boy Rocket which collided with Darb's The Man. Just Curtis raced wide on the home turn. Crazy Eye Jye and Riverdale Paddy collided approaching the home turn, checking Big Boy Rocket. Big Boy Rocket and Riverdale Paddy collided in the home straight.

Unlocked was quick to begin. Be Hopeful checked off Silver Squiggle approaching the first turn. Moonlit Eyes checked off Be Hopeful on the first turn and collided with Irish Asteria; Moonlit Eyes raced wide as a result. Moonlit Eyes and He's Your Mate raced wide on the home turn.

Prior to kennelling, a sample was unable to be obtained from Southwood Jet; subsequently, a pre-race sample was taken. 

Ninetymile Toby was slow to begin. Major Gold and Southwood Jet collided soon after the start, checking Ninetymile Toby. Major Gold and Two Mississippi collided on the first turn, checking Two Mississippi. Two Mississippi and Southwood Jet collided on the first turn, checking Southwood Jet, Destini Seajewel and Two Mississippi. Two Mississippi eased approaching the home turn. Ninetymile Toby raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms Wendy Miller, the trainer of the greyhound Two Mississippi regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.Two Mississippi was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle and a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Two Mississippi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Miller pleaded guilty to the charge, Two Mississippi was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Spring Kitty and Gunfighter were slow to begin. Seabrook Dill checked off Spring Alis approaching the first turn. Dyna Mimi and Spring Kitty collided on the home turn, checking Gunfighter. Seabrook Dill checked off Spring Alis on the home turn. Fastnet Kahn raced wide in the home straight, collided with Cosmic Moments and Dashing Diamond, checking Dashing Diamond and causing Dashing Diamond and Cosmic Moments to race wide.

Showtime Chevi was slow to begin. Cruisen Billy and Uncool Albert collided soon after the start, checking Boloney Club. Little Arandt, Little Mix and Cruisen Billy collided approaching the first turn, checking Little Mix and severely checking Cruisen Billy. Little Arandt faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result. Show Bag Carter and Little Arandt raced wide on the home turn.

Little Arandt was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal (hock) fracture to the right hind leg. A 90-day stand down period was imposed.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Allen Ichiro trialled over the 400m from box 2, weight 32.6kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.61, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2L. Allen Ichiro was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Phillip Thomson, the trainer of Barcia's Fate regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Barcia's Fate last raced on 28th April, 2016. Mr Thomson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right stopper bone injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Barcia's Fate trialled over the 400m from box 3, weight 33.5kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.61, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10L. Barcia's Fate was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mahlo Hero trialled over the 400m from box 7, weight 24.7kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.61, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10L. Mahlo Hero was not cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Ainsley Bale trialled over the 400m from box 8, weight 27.2kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.61, the greyhound won by a margin of 2L. Ainsley Bale was cleared.

Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) - Admiral Bay trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 34.7kg. The time of the trial was 23.62, Admiral Bay was not cleared.

Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) - Fipa Narchi trialled over the 460m from box 1, weight 33kg. The time of the trial was 27.31, Fipa Narchi was not cleared. Stewards noted that Fipa Narchi's foot was caught in the muzzle at box rise. Fipa Narchi was vetted follow the event it was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right front metacarpal. No stand down period was imposed. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Wayne Vassallo, the trainer of It's A Plane, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. It's A Plane last raced on 20th December 2016. Mr Vassallo stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after having a back left toe removed. Pursuant to GAR 77A, It's A Plane trialled over the 460m from box 1, weight 36.4kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.95, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6L. It's A Plane was cleared.
