Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Heat Policy, the kennel temperature was recorded as 19.8C.
Stewards spoke to Mr Max Grey, the handler of Iseni Crusader regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Iceni Crusader last raced on 7th December 2016. Mr Grey stated that the greyhound had been spelled.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ain't No Hurry.
Sleek Nitro was slow to begin. Iceni Crusader, Ripsaw Ronny and Droppin' Plates collided soon after the start, checking Ripsaw Ronny. Silky Strings and Sleek Nitro raced wide to the first turn. Iceni Crusader and Ain't No Hurry collided approaching the first turn, checking Ain't No Hurray. Droppin' Plates and Amigo One collided on the first turn, checking Ripsaw Ronny. Silky Strings and Iceni Crusader collided approaching the home turn. Iceni Crusader and Sleek Nitro collided entering the home straight, checking Sleek Nitro which stumbled, and severely checking Iceni Crusader. Lady Bullseye and Silky Strings collided entering the home straight. Ripsaw Ronny and Ain't No Hurry collided in the home straight.
Iceni Crusaider was vetted and after being re-vetted following event seven, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle; a seven-day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Amigo One, the winner of the event.
