Steward's Report
This meeting was deemed heat affected. At the close of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.6C and the kennel temperature was 19.2C.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Countess Carlow, a post-race sample was subequently taken.
Revel was quick to begin. Tye Me Chopper and Tye Me Over were slow to begin. Countess Carlow, Tiger Cabang, Injector and Imperial Fox collided approaching the first turn, checking Tiger Cabang. Imperial Fox and Countess Carlow collided approaching the first turn, checking Countess Carlow. Tye Me Over collided on the first turn, severely checking Countess Carlow which tailed off. Injector checked off Imperial Fox on the home turn.
Countess Carlow was vetted and after being re-vetted following event six, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right saddle, right long head (monkey) muscle, and right stifle; a ten-day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Revel, the winner of the event.
