Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr J Fowler, the trainer of Melissa Anne, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Melissa Anne last raced on 24 November 2016. Mr Fowler stated that the greyhound had not been racing due to general soreness.
A pre-race sample was taken from Melissa Lee.
Big Tilly was slow to begin. Fine Quara and Roger Express collided soon after the start. Pretty Sensation checked off Roger Express approaching the first turn. Dyna Hayley checked off Roger Express on the first turn. Roger Express contacted the rail on the first turn. Fran Allen and Dyna Hayley collided entering the home straight and several times in the home straight.
Pretty Sensation was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the left hindleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Roger Express was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
