A pre-race sample was taken from Bombastic Tim.
Meila Allen and Pippa's Pride were quick to begin. Sweet Galos and Bombastic Time collided soon after the start, checking Sweet Galos. Meila Allen, Pippa's Pride and Fabriola Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Pippa's Pride. Troy Bale galloped on the heels of Pippa's Pride on the first turn, checking Pippa's Pride. Sally Bale and Pippa's Pride collided approaching the home turn. Bombastic Tim and Troy Bale collided approaching the home turn.
Pippa's Pride was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hind toe and left calf. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr T Dailly, the representative of Pippa's Pride, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at box rise.
