A pre-race sample was taken from Mafalda Hopkirk.
Dr. Toretto and Hurry Slowly were slow to begin. Rolanda Hooch crossed to the rails soon after the start. Arabella Figg crossed to the outside approaching the first turn checking Alpha Nemesis, Coalville Tiger, Dr. Toretto, Hurry Slowly and Sausage Sizzle. Coalville Tiger and Rolanda Hooch collided approaching the first turn. Alpha Nemesis, Dr. Toretto and Sausage Sizzle collided approaching the first turn checking Sausage Sizzle. Coalville Tiger and Rolanda Hooch collided on the first turn. Arabella Figg and Coalville Tiger collided on the second turn. Alpha Nemesis checked off the heels of Arabella Figg entering the back straight checking Dr. Toretto. Arabella Figg and Sausage Sizzle collided on the third turn checking Arabella Figg. Coalville Tiger and Rolanda Hooch collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Hurry Slowly and Rolanda Hooch collided approaching the winning post.
Dr. Toretto was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left fore toe, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
