Steward's Report
Secretary Bird and Lady Torah were slow to begin. Contemplate checked off Mississippi Girl approaching the first turn. Secretary Bird, Contemplate and Lady Torah collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Jodie's Knee and One Cup Short collided on the first turn. Secretary Bird veered out and marred Contemplate on the first turn checking Contemplate as a result. Mississippi Girl and Junner Bale collided entering the home straight. Jodie's Knee and Junner Bale collided approaching the winning post.
Secretary Bird was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms J. Walker, Trainer of Secretary Bird. Acting under GAR 69(1), Stewards charged Secretary Bird with marring. Ms Walker pleaded not guilty to the charge, Secretary Bird was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months, All Tracks, and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Contemplate was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
