Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr T Fiddian, the trainer of Gypsy Bee, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Gypsy Bee last raced on 28 August 2016 and is returning to racing after a change of kennel.
Shady Apple and Might And Magic were quick to begin. Gypsy Bee was slow to begin. Whacker Fancy checked off the heels of Might And Magic on the first turn. Smart Judo and Whacker Fancy collided approaching the home turn, checking Gypsy Bee. Might And Magic checked off the heels of Dee Mini Mouse on the home turn. Dee Mini Mouse and Might And Magic raced wide entering the home straight. Gypsy Bee and Whacker Fancy collided entering the home straight. Might And Magic marred the running of Dee Mini Mouse in the home straight, causing Dee Mini Mouse, Might And Magic, Gypsy Bee and Whacker Fancy to collide.
Might And Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left and right foreleg shoulder joint, left and right hindleg fibula and saddle, right hindleg stifle, triangle and groin injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms A Katiforis the trainer of the greyhound Might And Magic regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Might And Magic with marring. Ms Katiforis pleaded guilty to the charge, Might And Magic was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
