Steward's Report

The photo finish for this event failed to operate.  As a consequence the results were entered manually. A later attempt by the judge to upload this vision resulted in the vision for race 2 being inadvertently uploaded instead.

Doobstar and Ballymac Gunnar were slow to begin.

Dr. Balboa and Sweet Amber collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Dr. Balboa.  Dr. Balboa and Jaguara collided on the first turn.  Dr. Balboa and Jaguara collided on the second turn checking Jaguara.  Ballymac Gunnar faltered in the back straight.  Jaguara galloped on the heels of Berri Lass approaching the home turn checking Berri Lass,Jaguara, Doobstar, Dr. Balboa and Ballymac Gunnar.  Berri Lass and Jaguara collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D McPhie trainer of Ballymac Gunnar regarding the greyhound's performance this evening. Mr. McPhie explained that the greyhound had recently trialled well over the 440mtrs at Sale.  As a result he was confident that the greyhound would acquit itself well this evening.  Stewards noted the injuries sustained by the greyhound this evening and further noted Mr. McPhie's comments.

Ballymac Gunnar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triceps and right wrist injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
