Steward's Report
Mr. E. Lieshout, trainer of Aston Park declared a new weight of 33.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Aston Park last raced at 31.4kgs.
Aeroplane Mick was quick to begin. Happy Deejay and Kokoda Dawn were slow to begin. Happy Deejay and Aston Park collided on the first turn. Heads No Tail and Gold Magic collided on the first turn. Happy Deejay checked off Aeroplane Mick approaching the home turn. Aeroplane Mick and Aston Park collided approaching the home turn. Aeroplane Mick and Kokoda Dawn collided on the home turn causing Aeroplane Mick to race wide and collide with Happy Deejay severely checking both greyhounds.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Bailey, trainer of Aeroplane Mick regarding the greyhound performing below market expectations. Mr. Bailey stated that he hadn't supported the greyhound. He further stated the greyhound was having only it's second race start and in his opinion is a highly excitable dog. Stewards requested the greyhound to be vetted and ordered a swab sample to be taken.
Aeroplane Mick was vetted and after being re vetted following event 3, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to the trainer, Mr. K. Bailey regarding the direction that the greyhound Aeroplane Mick be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
