Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Holmes, the trainer of Wild Sarah regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Wild Sarah last raced on 6th August, 2016 and is returning to racing after a spell.
Senor Asher, Seabrook Indi, Coolan King and Wild Sarah collided soon after the start checking Coolan King and Wild Sarah. Coolan King and Wild Sarah raced wide approaching the first turn. Gone Rusty, Coolan King and Wild Sarah collided on the first turn checking Gone Rusty and Coolan King. Papa Chippy, Seabrook Indi and Anustar collided on the first turn checking Seabrook Indi and Anustar. Papa Chippy checked off Colluding on the home turn. Wild Sarah and Anustar collided on the home turn. Coolan King and Wild Sarah collided on the home turn and in the home straight. Papa Chippy, Colluding and Senor Asher collided in the home straight.
Senor Asher was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left groin. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
Stewards noted that the muzzle of Senor Asher became dislodged during the running of the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms. R. Gilmore, the representative of the greyhound Senor Asher. Stewards deemed the performance of Senor Asher unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Senor Asher must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. In determining this decision, Stewards took into consideration the greyhound's veterinary stand down period and the fact that the muzzle of the greyhound became dislodged soon after the start.
