Pre-race samples were taken from Barton Bale and Zambora Brockie
Worm Burner, Outside Pass, Matt Machine and Jesaulenko were slow to begin.
Zambora Brockie, Tripum and Jesaulenko collided approaching the first turn. Zambora Brockie and Tripum collided on the first turn. Zambora Brockie and Matt Machine collided entering the back straight checking Tripum. Barton bale and Jesaulenko collided on the home turn. Jesaulenko veered in and marred the running of Ando's Mac approaching the winning post.
Zambora Brockie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Jesaulenko was vetted following th event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left and right deltoid injury and left and right pencil injuries, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Samples were taken from placegetters - Ando's Mac (1st), Jesaulenko (2nd) and Worm Burner (3rd).
Stewards spoke to Mrs T. Morris, the trainer of the greyhound Jesaulenko regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post . Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Jesaulenko with marring. Mrs T. Morris pleaded not guilty to the charge, Jesaulenko was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b),before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D Russell, trainer of the greyhound Tripum, subsequent to race 8 regarding his use of inappropriate language towards GRV steward Mr. C Scott. Mr D Russell was charged pursuant to GAR86Q, with behaviour which was detrimental to the interest and control of greyhound racing. Mr Russell pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined a sum of $100.
