Steward's Report
Explosive Tiger and Smouldering Coal were slow to begin. Kraken Ridge, Ringlock Queen, Midori Miss and Catweasel collided soon after the start. Catweasel, Midori Miss and Destructacon collided approaching the first turn. Destructacon and Midori Miss collided on the first turn checking Destructacon. Destructacon amnd Catweasel collided approaching the home turn. Midori Miss galloped on the heels of Ringlock Queen approaching the home turn. Kraken Ridge eased entering the home straight. Smouldering Coal checked off Catweasel in the home straight. Super Ricky and Ringlock Queen collided approaching the winning post.
Explosive Tiger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury and a left deltoid injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Smouldering Coal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the the right hind 3rd toe. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Eyles, the trainer of the greyhound Kraken Ridge regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Kraken Ridge was vetted and re-vetted following event 5. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right deltoid muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kraken Ridge with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Eyles pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Ridge was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
