Steward's Report
Aston Machine - Late scratching at 3:58PM when Ms. Michelle Mallia reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate, pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w), before any future nominations will be accepted.
Patience was quick to begin. Compute was slow to begin.
Fabulous Furiosa was very slow to begin, turned its head to the inside soon after the start and subsequently tailed off. Fabulous Furiosa underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4 - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Mr. Mykal Gee regarding Fabulous Furiosa's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Fabulous Furiosa was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Gee pleaded guilty to the charge. Fabulous Furiosa was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race urine sample was taken from Compute – the winner of the event.
