Broken Halo was quick to begin. Lorimer Street was slow to begin. Broken Halo and Lorimer Street collided approachoing the home turn and raced wide as a result.

Broken Halo (severely checked on the home turn and lost ground over the concluding stages of the event) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
