Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Sailor Song.
Eleventh Scotch was quick to begin. Always Believe and Paw Norbert were slow to begin.
Rothwell Jack was severely checked and subsequently fell turning off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury.
Always Believe turned its head inwards approaching the winning post. Always Believe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8 - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms. Tracy Deglaitis regarding Always Believe’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Always Believe was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Deglaitis pleaded guilty to the charge. Always Believe was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
