Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Rough Gem.
Roman Empire and Mighty Heighty were quick to begin. Snitch Adams, Darnum Train and Miss Black were slow to begin.
Roman Empire (lost ground in the home straight), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Dean Williamson regarding the racing manners of Roman Empire in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Williamson viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards issued a warning.
Darnum Train (faltered in the back straight and subseqently lost ground), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Miss Black (lost ground in the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
