Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(7), Steward Mr. Craig Hon did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Paw Leon and Viking Ruler were quick to begin. Shima Sand was slow to begin.
Leon's Entity (faltered and subsequently pulled up in the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left pencil muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Pursuant to GAR 122, the Stewards requested trainer to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Leon's Entity in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Due to Leon's Entity pulling up, and subsequently returning down the back straight toward the catching pen, the method of lure finish was converted to a follow-on style, to minimize risk to the returning greyhound. All greyhounds were observed by the on-track veterinarian after the conclusion of the event.
