Steward's Report
Knife Edge underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration on the left radius. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Paul May regarding Knife Edge's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Knife Edge was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. May pleaded guilty to the charge. Knife Edge was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Moraine Remi underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Briana Robertson-Leech regarding Moraine Remi's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Moraine Remi was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Robertson-Leech pleaded guilty to the charge. Moraine Remi was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post - race sample was taken from Moraine Remi - winner of the event.
